Biography
Prof Iris Tang joined the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine in January 2023 as Clinical Assistant Professor of Practice. She received her medical degree from the University of Hong Kong in 2014. She obtained her qualification of the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2016. She obtained the postgraduate diploma in infectious diseases at the University of Hong Kong in 2019. She completed her Rheumatology training in 2021 and Advanced Internal Medicine training in 2022.

Prof Tang has special research interests in inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue diseases, in particular idiopathic inflammatory myopathies. She is also interested in the pathogenesis, risk stratification and therapeutic advances in interstitial lung disease associated with connective tissue diseases. She is dedicated in promoting multidisciplinary collaboration in the field of rheumatology and is currently the convenor of scientific subcommittee at the Hong Kong Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation.
