李耀光先生秉承父親樂善好施的精神，作出捐獻，回饋社會。李朝江伉儷及兒子李耀光先生捐出八佰萬港元支持袁孟峰講座教授作乙型肝炎研究。

李耀光先生於一九五八留學英國建築糸，他捐贈及支持乙肝研究之餘，並希望紀念父母，其父親李朝光先生祖籍潮州汕頭縣潮陽達濠人，早年由家郷來港發展，白手興家，主業務為出入口莊，創立全港第一間以四字商號 " 香發渭記 "，經營出入口生意範圍遍及東南亞一帶並遠至南非。李朝光先生生前熱心公益，樂於助人。李夫人相父教子，母儀足式，對子女悉心教導。

 Mr Li Yiu Kwong upholds his father's philanthropic spirits of charity and makes enormous contributions to the society.  Together with his late parents, Mr and Mrs Li Chiu Kwong, Mr Li Yiu Kwong has generously donated HK$8 million to the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine in support of Professor Man-Fung Yuen’s medical research in fighting against Hepatitis B.

Mr Li Yiu Kwong studied architecture in the UK in 1958.  Out of his selfless devotion, Mr Li wishes to support the advancement of clinical excellence in hepatitis B research in memory of his late parents.  His late father, Mr Li Chiu Kwong, was originated from Chaozhou, Shantou, who subsequently relocated to Hong Kong in his early stage of career.  From a humble beginning, Mr Li, through his hard work, later earned a reputation in the business sector in Hong Kong and was well-known to have registered the first local company with a four-Chinese character trademark name as " 香發渭記 ".  The late Mr Li had built his import and export trade empire with businesses from all around the globe from Southeast Asia to South Africa.  The late Mr Li was a well-respected philanthropist, who was held in high regards for his benevolent and charitable character in helping the needy.  Mrs Li was a charismatic lady who had tendered unreserved love and care to the Li family, and particularly in raising and nurturing her children tirelessly.
