Each week's title is usually available on the Monday prior to the meeting. It is our usual practice to have a research meeting once every 2 months in place of grand round but not requisite.

Research Meeting: Repurposing drug treatment for non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis

| Detail: | Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) shares similarities with bronchiectasis in terms of clinical presentation and neutrophilic airway inflammation. Roflumilast, a specific phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor, has been approved for treating COPD via its anti-inflammatory activity on neutrophilic airway inflammation. A phase II clinical trial has been conducted to investigate the potential role of roflumilast in treating non-CF bronchiectasis. |
