Each week's title is usually available on the Monday prior to the meeting. It is our usual practice to have a research meeting once every 2 months in place of grand round but not requisite.

| Detail: | Central venous catheters are commonly used by most hemodialysis patients as hemodialysis access. Despite the many disadvantages associated with catheter use, standard access options (AV fistula and AV graft) for hemodialysis may not be feasible in some patients. As our dialysis patients live longer, these catheters also “survive” longer with our patients. We have recently encountered 2 patients with a rare complication of long-term hemodialysis catheter use. We will also revisit some of the common chronic complications of theses hemodialysis catheters. |
