Twenty-nine scholars from the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine are ranked as the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025 by Stanford University. The ranking was based on the "Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators", encompassing various factors such as citations, individual's research output, co-authorship and a composite indicator for career-long citation impact.

World’s Top 1% Scholars 2025 (by Clarivate Analytics)
Each year since 2009, the HKU Libraries has published a list of the top 1% researchers at the University. The list is based on Essential Science Indicators (ESI) data released by Clarivate and follows an internally developed methodology specific to each research field.
