In-patient service and consultations

Dermatology inpatients service is located in Block K, South Wing, is attended by Dermatology Specialists, and residents, covering in-hospital dermatology consultations (Adult & Paediatrics) in Queen Mary Hospital and HKWC cluster hospitals by tele-consultations.

Specialist Outpatient Clinics

Our Specialist Outpatient Clinic at Queen Mary Hospital has been established to provide continuity of care to discharged dermatological patients who required follow-up in the catchment area of the Hong Kong West Cluster. We provide consultations and comprehensive treatments for common skin conditions, with emphasis on hospital dermatology, and for patients with severe dermatoses including those with immunobullous dermatoses or inflammatory dermatoses requiring immunosuppressive therapy, post-marrow/organ transplant patients on long-term immunosuppressive with skin problem, or patients with severe cutaneous adverse drug reactions with long-term sequelae. Other minor surgery and procedures including diagnostic skin or nail biopsies are also available. Our phototherapy units provide Narrow-band UVB and Psoralen-UVA therapy to treat patients with severe psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and other skin disease. For patients with allergic contact dermatitis, skin patch tests are available.

Apart from the general dermatology clinics, there are sub-specialty clinics. Our Combined Dermatology -Rheumatology/Biologic clinic provide comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients with severe skin inflammatory disease such as psoriasis or eczema who require advanced therapy such as immunosuppressant or biologics therapy. Paediatric dermatology clinic provide service not only to common skin condition but also congenital/ genetic dermatoses with internal involvement, requiring dermatology specialists and paediatricians/ genetic clinicians’ attention and care such as Epidermolysis Bullosa with multiple disabilities. All in all, we commit to provide a comprehensive dermatology service and care to our patients in all age groups.

Phototherapy & Laser Clinic

Phototherapy sessions are operated in Queen Mary Hospital. Both Ultra-violet (UV) A & Narrow-band UVB are available. Patients will attend on appointment only.

Wet-wrap therapy is located at Occupational therapy Unit to facilitate treatment at home or in-patient at day ward.
